Our History

Allen & Ballard Insurance Associates, LLC was originally started as a brand-new business in 1996 as Allen Insurance Group by Fenn and Ann Allen when they moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania to start the business out of their home.

The agency eventually moved to their Concord location on Kannapolis Parkway in 2004 after renovating an old home into their office space.

In 2010, the agency merged with Northcross Insurance owned by Jay Ballard. This is when we changed our agency name to Allen & Ballard Insurance Associates, LLC. Eventually Jay left the business to pursue a career in Real Estate.

Over the years Fenn and Ann’s sons Jacob and Josiah joined the family business along with their daughter-in-law Francesca and Fenn’s sister Barbara Heese.

In 2023, we merged with the Isenhour-Freeman Insurance and Realty Company located in Salisbury, NC. Isenhour-Freeman was also a family-owned agency that started in 1926 and was most recently led by David Isenhour assisted by his daughter Charlotte Basinger making it a fourth-generation family run business. Today, we operate the Salisbury location under the Isenhour-Allen Insurance name and look forward to celebrating 100 years of continuous service in Salisbury under the Isenhour name in 2026.
