“Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future.” Steve Miller Band
“Lost time is never found again.” Benjamin Franklin
Time is a respecter of no person. Time is the great equalizer; as each day we receive it in equal amounts regardless of our race, religion, net worth, achievements, skills, abilities or attitude. Every day we are allotted the same amount of time as everyone else and no one can take it from us or use it for us. Time is ours alone to spend or invest. Ours alone to redeem or waste.
As Benjamin Franklin said, you can’t get back lost time and you never know how much you have left. All we have is this moment and it is our choice how we use. However, there are a thousand sirens calling to us every day to come spend our time with them. But, ultimately you have the ability to choose how you will use it each and every moment. Choose well, for time is the stuff life is made of.
Later in the course we will delve into how we can maximize the use of our time for what matters most. But, in the meantime it is important for you to take an accounting of how you use your time and to think about what you are getting in return. Walk away from the stuff that consumes your time with no return and take the time you save and invest it in the people and things you value most.
Time is the currency of life and you can’t take it with you. Have no regrets and leave none behind.
“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Abraham Lincoln
